# Launching Gravity Sketch With SteamVR
### **Launching Gravity Sketch with SteamVR — Troubleshooting Guide**
If Gravity Sketch does not launch correctly through SteamVR, we have found that this can be due to SteamVR’s OpenXR settings or compatibility layers interfering with the app. This guide shows you how to fix common configuration issues.
#### **1. Check SteamVR OpenXR Runtime**
1. Open SteamVR and go to **Settings**.
2. Find the **OpenXR** section.
3. Set **SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime** (this ensures SteamVR is selected to handle OpenXR applications correctly).
4. Confirm the change and restart SteamVR.
> *Note:* If SteamVR isn’t listed as the OpenXR runtime, you may need to update SteamVR or your headset drivers.

#### **2. Disable OculusXR Compatibility Layer**
1. In SteamVR settings, select **Manage OpenXR API Layers**.
2. Turn **OFF “Compatibility Layer for the OculusXR Plugin”**.
3. This layer can redirect OpenXR calls in ways that break controller orientation or block apps from launching correctly.

- After doing the above, launch Gravity Sketch again from your Steam library while SteamVR is running.
