This article will walk you through the process of setting up a Meta Quest 2 out of the box for the first time.
Meta Quest headsets can be used standalone or tethered (check PC system requirements for tethered headsets here).
Before you set up your Quest 2, you will need the following:

Wireless Set Up
To set up, follow these steps:
- Download the Meta Store app on your smartphone and pair it with your headset through Meta Mobile App. Check the full process here.
- Once set up, go to Meta Store. Search and download the Gravity Sketch app (this can be done on your headset or on your mobile).

Tethered via Oculus Link Set Up
- Download the Oculus PC app (or Steam) on a compatible gaming computer: If you are using Steam then you need to make sure it's allowed to launch from an unknown source: open the Oculus app, go to Settings>General> allow/enable Unknown Sources.
- Make sure your Quest is turned on. Open Oculus app on your computer > select Devices > Add Headset > Select Link (Cable). Go through the linking process.
- Once the Oculus Link Setup is complete put on the headset and selects “Allow access to data”.
- Go to the Quick Settings Menu and select Oculus Link.
- Download the GS app in Meta Store.
- Launch the app, log in to your LandingPad account and start creating.
To connect your headset via Air Link check the instructions here.
