# Crease
Use creasing to apply crease on a SubD surface.
#### Access and Use
1. **[Open the SubD editing tools](https://help.gravitysketch.com/hc/en-us/articles/5912997138333-SubD-Tools-Menu#:~:text=with%20SubD%20objects.-,Access,-You%20can%20access)**
1. Grab the Crease tool and point it on the surface geometry
1. Pull the front trigger on the same controller to apply crease
4\. Click the blue tick mark button on your non-drawing hand to finish editing
### **Add crease to the entire loop**
You can add crease to an entire loop by pulling the front trigger on a non-drawing hand while selecting a loop to crease.
#### Exporting with the Crease Tool
The SubD control mesh now contains metadata, so other software such as Blender or Alias can read it directly. This means you no longer need to separate SubD objects out into different layers and export separately: just one export is needed for the whole file.
As part of this, we have also fixed some edge cases around how we crease objects to make them in line with industry standards.
Note: This might mean you notice some creased objects showing up differently in the Gravity Sketch app. This will only happen in some edge cases, and it will be in line with what you would see when exporting the file to other software. As a workaround: add more edge loops closer to the crease to get the sharper visual edge you’re looking for.
#### Remove Crease
To remove the crease from the surface repeat the process and select the creased geometry with the tip of the Crease tool again.
